This thermometer comes with a 5-year warranty for the sensor, should something go wrong such as an incorrect temperature. The company will replace the probe with no questions asked.

This top-of-the-line thermometer has all the features any serious or professional chef could possibly want. It offers a large LCD display which will give you all the information you need.

It has a twin probe design to read the temperature of food as well as the grill, smoker, or oven. The screen has a great backlight to read in low light situations including during the night time.

The Pros:

The Dual probe is designed with a separate receiver

All readings are in Fahrenheit and Celsius

It has timers, alarms, and an excellent backlight display

The Cons:

The alarm will not operate in really low temperatures

Beeps go off and are very loud when the buttons are touched.

Quite honestly, we could not find very much on the downside of this unit.

The temperature reading is from -58 to 572°F.  It offers preset temperatures for 11 different kinds of food including beef, chicken, pork, fish, lamb, turkey, and ground beef. You also have the ability to reset all temperatures to suit your individual taste.

This thermometer has a companion app that has an automatic interface which includes timers and alarms that the thermometer does not have. If you are someone who carries your phone around with you everywhere, you will never miss the exact time to take your food off the grill.

The only downside, it is not waterproof so it could become damaged if you leave it next to the grill or smoker.

The Pros:

There are 6 probes to monitor different foods at the same time

Has a companion app that is easy to use and read

Offers a large LCD display

The Cons:

It is not water-proof

Does not come with its own alarms

About The Soraken Wireless Remote Thermometer:

This is another thermometer that is designed to use with mobile devices. As it’s more than likely you will have your phone with you at all times, you will be able to monitor your food using its Bluetooth meat thermometer without any issues.

It comes with a great range up to 170-feet. You will be able to control everything using your device within that range.

This remote thermometer has 4 probes allowing you to cook all your food accurately by allowing you to accurately monitor the temperature of your food and that of your grill, smoker, or oven. The temperatures range from 32 to 572°F.

The wires are made from metal braiding and upgraded Teflon core which will be capable of withstanding temperatures up to 716°F.

You will have preset temperatures and cooking levels for 11 different kinds of food and can set both high and low-temperature ranges as well as the timer. You also have the option for setting the temperatures manually to fit your taste. When the temperature has been reached and the timer is up, the thermometer will beep and the LCD will flash.  You will never have to worry about under-cooking or over-cooking your food.

The thermometer has a magnetic back making it really easy for grilling. Simply attach the thermometer to one of the grills that are not heated, keeping it out of the way while being easy to access.

It has 4 companion apps that can be downloaded on your mobile device that runs on either iOS or Android.

The Pros:

Has a built-in alarm system

Comes with a large LCD Screen

The Cons:

The probes are NOT Dishwasher safe.

About The Lumsing Wireless Thermometer:

This is another top-of-the-line BBQ thermometer that works with your mobile device but it does not come with a receiver. You will have a basic LED display but if you want to do things manually, you will need to pair it with your iOS or Android device.

The good news, it’s really easy to accomplish. This thermometer can be connected with a phone, laptop, or tablet using Bluetooth. It will give you constant updates.

You do not have to carry around a separate device, just keep your phone nearby which is probably something you do automatically anyway.

This thermometer is very easy to program without using buttons, as everything is taken care of through the app’s interface. The companion app is designed to be very intuitive and very easy to use.

This thermometer is actually quite unique. You can opt for the one-probe or two-probe versions but we recommend you go for the 2-probe, it doesn’t cost much more and is very convenient. It will allow you to monitor the temperature of your food as well as your grill.

The Bluetooth works up to 300 feet and the cords on the probes will allow you to place the base a good distance from our BBQ.

Better yet, it has a lifetime limited warranty with every unit sold. The company is very confident about its durability so you will not have to be concerned about it breaking or burning out.

The downside, the probes only go as high as 482°F even though you certainly do not want your food reaching that high a temperature. It does have limitations regarding how you can use it to measure your grill or oven temperature. It is recommended that you move the probes away from the heating area before you start broiling or searing. By all other aspects, this is a great thermometer.

The interface is very easy to use even if you choose to carry your phone around for cooking. This might not be your choice if you are serious about cooking.

The Pros:

Has a really well-designed interface

It’s easy to use and program

It’s available in more than one version

The Cons:

The probes cannot withstand high temperatures.

Maverick ET-732 Remote BBQ Smoker Thermometer:

The Maverick ET-732 is a two-probe wireless meat thermometer for your smoker to monitor barbecue and food temperatures. It also comes with its own receiver. The probes simply plug into the transmitter that sends the data to the receiver up to 300 feet away.

You get two probes, one is straight and short to measure the temperature of the barbecue and the other is shaped like an “L” with a sharp point which inserts into the food. The transmitter has two inputs that are labeled for each probe. Some customers believe the cables are too short.

The display has a transmitter that will show the probe’s temperature in alternating patterns. The temperatures are in Fahrenheit or Celsius which can be selected on the back of the transmitter.

The displays on the receiver come in two modes, the thermometer mode displays the temperature of each probe or the food probe that can be set to alert you when a given temperature is reached.  The BBQ probe has an upper and lower limit that will send off an alarm if the temperature goes beyond the limits.

You can set the temperature limits by pressing the light/mode button to lock it in place. If this is not done properly, it will go back to the previous settings. We found this just a little bit confusing.

The BBQ alarm will not go off until the temperature rises above the lower limit so you don’t have to listen to beeping as the unit warms up. For some reason, if the thermometer and the receiver lose communication, you will get an audible and visual alarm letting you know what happened.

You set the timer mode that counts down until it reaches zero. At that time, an alarm will sound than the timer will start counting upward. The timer can also be set as an up-counter by setting the initial time to zero. The timer’s alarm sound is very different from the temperature alarm and can be set simultaneously.

This remote thermometer is one of the most popular on the market to date. The thermometer is very well made and the transmitter is water-resistant. If you simply following the instructions, it’s very easy to use.

The Pros:

It’s very well made and comes with a receiver

It’s water-resistant

The thermometer alerts you if communication fails.

The Cons:

The cables seem to be too short.

It can be difficult to program.
